Projected routes and schedules for SUPERMAXX trains, buses, and the Devonport Ferry SUPERMAXX updated February 2020. Six months is a reasonable time frame to implement these across the city, two months to refine the routes, two months in the public domain for comment by Local Boards and residents of each area and make any changes, and two months to change drivers rosters and promote the new schedules to the public.

This could have been implemented in 2008 with huge benefits to Aucklanders with much better services and much lower costs to commuters and ratepayers.Over $1 billion would have been saved.

It is outrageous that 1,700 people in Auckland Transport receiving over $100 million in wages wasted years and millions of dollars introducing their 'new network' finally in 2019. This does not offer the flexibility, frequency, and economy of travel that SUPERMAXX does. There is no excuse for this.

Major flaws of the 'New Network':
1. Simplicity, regularity, and frequency of schedules - Supermaxx offers services every 10 minutes on primary routes.

2. SUPERMAXX network is designed to enable people to move easily and quickly around the city without passing through the central city. Auckland Transport made modest improvements for people coming into and out of the central city.

3. All SUPERMAXX primary and express routes start and end at transport hubs to enable people to move around the city e.g. Dominion Rd buses end at New Lynn. Manukau Rd buses end at Manukau transport hub. AT services end at suburban areas.

4. SUPERMAXX has one primary route on each arterial road. AT provide two 80 seat double deckers often travelling in tandem down Dominion Rd or Manukau Rd for most of the day - often from my observation with less than 10 passengers in each.

5. SUPERMAXX provides vastly reduced fares based on unlimited travel passes

6. SUPERMAXX has 40 bus routes travelling to and through the inner city. AT has over 130 massively increasing congestion in the inner city and on bus stops

7. SUPERMAXX provides 24 hour services (every hour midnight - 6am) on primary toutes for a 6 month trial. AT does not provide these services even though Auckland functions 24 hours a day.

8. SUPERMAXX has all services and service information in one timetable to make it easy and encourage commuters to explore the city. AT has approximately 30 timetables.

9. SUPERMAXX has over 40 transport hubs/interchanges for quick and easy changes of services for those that need to. AT does not.

10. SUPERMAXX has express bus services covering the city to move quickly around the city. AT has sporadic express services only.

11. SUPERMAXX provides undercover camera monitored cycle storage at all transport hubs to encourage 'active transport' in a realistic way
